Wizarding Dreams Come True!

It's been a week since my birthday and I still have birthday fever...I like to make them last as long as I can!! I may have spent my birthday this year exploring little Dutch villages, but my twin sister and I spent last year’s birthday exploring another little village: HOGSMEADE to be exact! Yes indeed! Twinnie, my mom (my dad chose to some R&R back at the hotel room!) and I spent 3 glorious days at Universal Studios in Orlando, most of the time which was spent giggling and running around the newly opened Harry Potter theme park. Like millions of fans out there, we were glued to the Harry Potter books for years so once we heard a Harry Potter theme park was opening, WE COULDN’T GET THERE FAST ENOUGH! If you haven’t read Harry Potter books before, you should! I swear you’ll finish the first book more hooked than ever and continue reading the rest of them thinking ‘damn oh how I wish I was a wizard!’ Trust me, you’ll love these books. Laugh at me now, but thank me later!

The day of our 25th birthday came in Orlando and we popped outta bed so fast, it felt like Christmas morning! We collected our passes for the day (and birthday stickers too!) and, trying to contain our excitement, walked hand-in-hand into the park catching a glimpse of Hogwarts castle in the distance...omg its right there! Ollivander’s wand shop, the Owlery, Quidditch, Harry Potter character lookalikes, wandering through Hogsmeade, butterbeer at Hog’s Head tavern, checking out the latest robes and magical trinkets...it was a dream! The days went by fast and we ended each day by joining my dad for dinner and drinks while we gushed about wands and wizards. After a teary goodbye, I boarded the plane bound for Amsterdam thinking that my 25th birthday was most certainly one for the books. No matter what age you are, it’s great to feel like a kid again......now if I can only figure out how to get into the Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry...
